Music Ministries

The purpose of Christ the Servant Music Ministry is to give praise to God through music, to lead the assembly in the sung parts of the mass, and to make full participation in the mass through song accessible to all. "A cry from deep within our being, music is a way for God to lead us to the realm of higher things. As St. Augustine says, “Singing is for the one who loves.” Music is therefore a sign of God’s love for us and of our love for him. In this sense, it is very personal. But unless music sounds, it is not music, and whenever it sounds, it is accessible to others. By its very nature song has both an individual and a communal dimension. Thus, it is no wonder that singing together in church expresses so well the sacramental presence of God to his people." (Sing to the Lord: Music in Divine Worship)

"Choirs comprise persons drawn from the community who possess the requisite musical skills and a commitment to the established schedule of rehearsals and Liturgies. Thus, they are able to enrich the celebration by adding musical elements beyond the capabilities of the congregation alone." (Sing to the Lord: Music in Divine Worship)

A wonderful way to share your time and talent with the church! We are always looking for new members! There are many benefits to joining a choir, such as stress reduction and a deep sense of belonging and community support. You will find that our parish choir is more than just a community of singers but is a welcoming "little family" in many ways. Open to adults and high school students.

+ Rehearsals Wednesday evenings 6:30pm-8:00pm Fall through Pentecost

+ Sing at Sunday 8:30am mass and certain Feast Days and special events

+ Christmas Concert

This is a great way to get your kids involved in the mass; they will learn about the parts and flow of the mass. Our kids are the future of our faith and it is important to invite them in to participate and get them involved as they are able.

No music experience is required, you do not have to know how to read music! Joining a children’s choir offers a unique blend of musical, spiritual, and social development. Beyond just singing, children learn valuable life skills like teamwork and confidence, all within a nurturing, faith centered environment.

For children grades 1-8

+ Rehearsals Monday evenings 6:00pm-6:45pm September through May

+ Sing at Sunday 11:30am mass about once a month

+ Christmas Concert

Instruments enrich the liturgical celebrations in many ways. We are always looking to add more instrumentalists. If you are interested in playing your instrument for mass, please reach out!

While the full choir sings at the 8:30 AM Mass, we also need cantors to lead the congregation in song at the 11:30 AM Mass. If you have a good singing voice and would like to serve as a cantor, please reach out to us.

A great way to serve the church but a more casual commitment. Members sing at funeral masses for members of the parish as an act of service and charity.
